Live Again Devotions
Day #1
“Choose Life”
Deuteronomy 30:19 (NLT) “Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live!
One of the most powerful things that God ever gave humankind us was the “power of choice.” Of all the choices one can ever make, the most important is the choice to live for God. If you find yourself away from God, whether you are a non-practicing Christian, a professed Christian but not living the Christian life, or you are church goer but still find yourself at a distance from God; you have the grand choice to draw near to Him. It will be the best choice you can ever make.
We are a product of the choices that we make in life. If we make bad choices, it will not go well for us. If we eat unhealthily, most likely we will be unhealthy. If you think bad thoughts, you will have bad behavior patterns. Your choices are powerful.
Deuteronomy 30:19, God presented a choice for the people of Israel to make. The choice was very simple. Choose to live or choose to die; choose blessings or curses. It would seem obvious that we would choose life and blessings, right? But we tend to make wrong choices, death and curses choices. Why? Because we make choices with our emotions and not with our thinking. Emotional choices blind us from the horror of death and curses. So, think long and hard before making choices.
Choose to have faith in God! The results will be salvation, restoration and resurrection. If you are not living for God, choose to serve Him and you will receive salvation. If you find yourself struggling in your relationship with God, choose to draw closer to Him. If you have things in your life that are dead and buried in the graveyard of yesteryear, choose to have faith in God’s resurrection power and see those things LIVE AGAIN!
Remember you have the power to choose! Choose Life!
